Grains of Things

installation, 2017

Grains of Things is a work exploring the role of visualisation tools through two distinctive elements:
1. a series of photographs and objects, in which editing tools "understand" and shape images according to the needs of the depicted characters,
2. an installation featuring equipment from a photographer's workshop, including a camera and lighting setup, aimed at an effigy of the artist seemingly running away from the arrangement.
Within every pictorial universe, reflections and shadows serve as agents of reality, pivotal in shaping perception. The artist seeks to uncover their shared territory — the titular grains of things. Today, representations are things: tangible objects embody what is pictorial, concealing deeper layers within. You can see more clearly in reflections and shadows.

A minimalist art gallery with white walls and a gray floor. Framed abstract artworks hang on the walls, and several angular, metallic sculptures are scattered on the floor. Track lighting highlights the pieces, and the brick ceiling adds contrast.
